Bissaleh means a little bit in Yiddish, but the Bissaleh Cafe just north of Miami offers a lot: kosher Israeli cuisine ranging from tuna steak to Linguini a la Funghi, along with live music and hookah -- and at an affordable price. Bissaleh Cafe's rustic atmosphere is reflected in wooden tables, benches and chairs, as well as large pipes running along the ceiling.
Sandwiches are in the $8-$10 range, while fish options can be in the low $20s. The fish plates include tilapia, snapper, mackerel, tuna steak, and Moroccan fish. You can choose from several types of hummus and falafels, or create your own fresh fruit smoothie and sip it on Bissaleh's covered patio.
The menu includes a large selection of salads and sandwiches.
Pastas and pizzas are also a Bissaleh favorite. Homemade pizzas start at about $10, and lots of toppings can be added to suite your taste. Pastas include eggplant parmesan, Lasagna, Linguini a la Fungh, and fettuccini alfredo, and they average about $15.
The patio comes to life on Saturday nights with live music and hookah. Hookah products are also available for purchase.
Pay attention to the menu; a 15 percent gratuity is already included. And if you're close enough, they will even deliver. Bissaleh caters for Weddings, Engagements, Bar/Bat Mitzvah, Birthdays, and more, just call to plan dates and menu options.
